This mug starts as a slab of stoneware clay. The EOD badges are rolled into the clay with a custom made rolling pin. The slab is then hand formed into a classic diner mug shape. The badges are emphasized with a translucent glaze. The inside is a creamy white.
Each ceramic piece is hand thrown on a pottery wheel using a porcelaneous stoneware and fired to approximately 2260°F in a kiln.
Dishwasher, food, and microwave safe. Although it is dishwasher safe, I recommend hand washing to maximize longevity. Dishwashers are rough and the detergent is harsh.
While all the mugs are made in the same way, they are hand crafted, and therefore each one is unique.
